Born from a neighborhood kitchen table in North Miami Beach, our movement began with a simple promise: no grandmother, day-laborer, or child in our community should ever go to sleep hungry or invisible.
Behind the sunlit avenues and coastal towers of South Florida live thousands of quiet neighbors carrying heavy burdens—elderly pensioners choosing between prescription medicine and groceries, newly arrived immigrant families working double shifts in kitchens and fields, and unsheltered men and women sleeping on concrete benches without a warm meal.
Seeing this silent crisis firsthand at 17940 NE 19th Avenue in North Miami Beach, Graciela A. Padilla alongside Vice President Mirna A. Lopez, Treasurer Jennifer Padilla, Secretary Francis Cotto, and a dedicated circle of five community directors—Javier Hernandez Estavez, Marlon M. Perez, Arodis Marzo, Osvaldo R. Lopez, Jr., and Maritza Martinez—united to form LOS OLVIDADOS POR EL MUNDO INC (“The Forgotten of the World”).
Officially incorporated in the State of Florida under Document #N17000011915 and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charity in November 2019 (EIN: 84-3044457), our pantry operates not as a bureaucratic institution, but as a warm communal hearth where every person is greeted by name and served with love.
“El hambre no solo duele en el estómago; duele en el alma cuando sientes que el mundo te ha olvidado. Cuando entregamos una bolsa de arroz, frijoles y pan caliente, le decimos a nuestro hermano: ‘Tú importas, tu vida vale, y esta mesa también es tuya.’”
Graciela A. Padilla and founding neighbors register Los Olvidados Por El Mundo Inc to formalize neighborhood food distributions in North Miami Beach.

Scaling weekly grocery boxes, infant nutrition lifelines, and homebound senior deliveries across North Miami Beach.
“Cada olla de sopa caliente lleva el cariño de voluntarios que cocinan como para su propia familia.”
“Los Olvidados Por El Mundo Inc is a North Miami Beach, Florida 501(c)(3) nonprofit grassroots food bank and pantry dedicated to restoring dignity, nutrition, and hope to the most vulnerable. We serve homeless individuals, struggling low-income families, elderly citizens, and immigrants who have been forgotten by society. Through weekly hot meal kitchens, emergency grocery distributions, and fresh produce boxes, we eliminate hunger with unconditional love, respect, and compassionate community care.”

Dignidad Ante Todo

Mesa Abierta para Todos
Regardless of nationality, language, age, or housing status, our doors open wide for anyone experiencing food insecurity in our neighborhood.
Nutrición Integral
We prioritize culturally familiar, wholesome ingredients—black and red beans, rice, fresh root vegetables, citrus, warm bread, and wholesome proteins.
Solidaridad Vecinal
Many of our volunteers once stood in our pantry line themselves. We lift one another up as equals sharing a single neighborhood table.
Mayordomía Fiel
Every donated dollar and crate of food is guarded with strict 501(c)(3) accountability so that resources go directly into feeding hungry mouths.
From family pantry boxes to hot soup kitchens and homebound senior caravans, explore how we combat hunger across every generation.
Designed to sustain a household of four to six people for an entire week. Each curated box includes essential dry black and pinto beans, enriched white and brown rice, cooking oils, whole-grain pasta, canned proteins, shelf-stable milk, and a bright harvest bag of fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables.
For unsheltered individuals, day-laborers without access to a stove, and neighbors living in temporary rooms, dry groceries aren’t enough. Our volunteer cooks prepare hearty, slow-simmered Latin stews (sancocho, potaje de lentejas, arroz con pollo) served hot alongside freshly baked bread and clean drinking water.
Infants and nursing mothers face the highest developmental risks during family economic emergencies. We maintain a dedicated, temperature-monitored reserve of sealed infant formula, iron-fortified baby cereals, organic fruit and vegetable purées, Electrolyte hydration packets, and prenatal nutritional staples.
Many seniors in North Miami Beach live alone with limited mobility and cannot carry heavy grocery boxes or stand in pantry lines. Our volunteer caravan personally knocks on their doors each week with easy-to-prepare, low-sodium groceries, soft breads, fresh fruit, and warm conversation so they know they are never forgotten.
